UMIDIGI One 4G Phablet - TWILIGHT
UMIDIGI One Pro 4G Phablet International Version - CARBON FIBER BLACK
The era of notched phones is upon us — and the UMIDIGI One is a proud follower of the trend. The phone's 5.86 inch screen is topped with one of the longest notches we've seen that houses the 16MP selfie shooter. The phone's body is metallic, measuring 5.84 x 2.81 x 0.33 inches and weighing about 180 grams. The power button on the front hides a fingerprint sensor. As for the color options, you will be able to choose between twilight and carbon fiber.
The highlight of the phone is definitely its 5.86 inch full surface display with a 1520 x 720 resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Sporting a 90% screen-to-body ratio, the UMIDIGI One can proudly sport the title of a "bezel-less" phone and offer a truly expansive view of your media: whether it's browsing the web, watching movies or indulging in some mobile gaming.
The UMIDIGI One houses the MediaTek Helio P23 MT6763T chip with an octa core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. Thanks to the 16nm processing technology, the phone can reach up to 2.0GHz in speed.
The CPU is complemented with 4GB of RAM, which is enough to support moderate multitasking. On the storage side, you have a modest 32GB — but this can be amended with an SD card of up to 256GB.
The UMIDIGI One is not what one would call "a camera phone", but there is quite a decent set of cameras on board. You have the 12.0MP + 5.0MP on the back of the phone and a 16MP shooter up front. Plus, you have the benefits of the large F/2.0 aperture making the images taken with the phone clearer and fuzz-less even in low light conditions.
You get the 3,550mAh battery, which should be enough to get you through a full day of moderate use without the need for a recharge. Moreover, the phone supports quick charge technology that lets you get the phone from 0% to a full battery in a shorter time.
Another highlight of the model are the dual smart power speaker amplifiers that create a stereo sound effect and open up ne levels of depth and immersiveness when you are listening to music or watching a movie.
The phone runs on Android 8.1 giving you access to the latest features like face unlock and access to all the goodies on the play store.
Actually, there are not too many differences to point out. The two phones sport an identical design, share the same measurements, weight and even come in the same selection of colors. You get the same 5.9 inch display with 1520 x 720 resolution and the same camera deal: 12.0MP + 5.0MP on the back and 16MP on the front.
Things only get a bit different when we look on the inside. While the two phones run on the same MediaTek Helio P23 MT6763T chip with eight cores (and there is the same 4GB of RAM), the UMIDIGI One Pro does come with more internal storage — 64GB compared to just 32GB on the standard version. Then again, as the storage on both devices can be expanded with an SD card, this is not that significant of an upgrade.
There is a small downgrade as well — the battery on the One Pro is slightly smaller than on the standard version — 3250mAh.
The UMIDIGI One ad the UMIDIGI One Pro are primarily media oriented phones. And you get everything you need for a comfortable media experience: from the large bezel-less screen all the way to stereo amplifiers. These are also very good looking devices with the popular notch design and two trendy colors going beyond the conventional whites and blacks. So, while these models are in the budget category, UMIDIGI went out of their way to give you more bang for your buck, both on the inside and the outside.
