The Unihertz Titan smartphone has a design clearly inspired by the Blackberry Passport, with the difference that it will work under Android. It is equipped with a 4.5-inch LCD screen (1440 x 1440 pixels) and a physical keyboard, emblematic of Blackberry devices. It also has four physical buttons dedicated to navigation, but also a fingerprint reader located in the centre of the upper part of the keyboard.
The brand announces an IP67 certification for this Titan. Thus, it should be resistant to water, dust and shocks, within reasonable limits. However, as iFixit explained, no smartphone would really be "waterproof". It also features a facial recognition system, wireless recharging, a dual-SIM drawer, NFC, a front photo lens and a second one at the back.
But the strength of Unihertz Titan is its autonomy. The phone carries a 6,000 mAh battery, enough to hold it for about two days, theoretically.
The Unihertz Titan is not yet available for sale. There are still some unknown technical specifications concerning the Titan, such as details of the photo sensors, storage space and available RAM. Unihertz plans to launch a participatory fundraising campaign to raise funds for the design of the smartphone.
According to Android authority, the device was announced at $199, but the price is now $219, which is still quite reasonable for a smartphone with a 6,000 mAh battery.
