Sailfish OS is a MeeGo-based operating system developed by a company called Jolla, which aims to provide users with an alternative platform for Android. One of the highlights of the system is that it has good compatibility and is convenient for developers to develop.
However, Huawei may be using the Russian version of the Sailfish system, Aurora OS. The biggest difference between the two is that, Aurora OS strips off the Android compatibility layer and is not compatible with Android apps. Aurora OS is currently being used by the Russian government and enterprises.
If Huawei adopts Sailfish OS, it could partly replace Android; but if it uses Russia's Aurora OS, it is more like Huawei's custom machine for Russian government and enterprise users. In addition, Huawei Hongmeng OS will meet with us as soon as this fall.
