There are two small differences between Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Redmi K20 Pro.
The first difference lies in the back design. If you take a closer look at the back panel design of the two smartphones, you will find that the words “Redmi, designed by Xiaomi” is changed to a Mi logo. Other than that, everything else in design is exactly the same.

The Redmi K20 Pro is the smartphone name in China and India, while it is named as Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro in global (European) market. Why? Xiaomi didn’t give its official explanation, but here are several reasons we think:
We have made a comparison between Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 in a previous article. As we can see, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 offer the same specs on screen size, screen resolution, processor and front camera, and the main difference lies in the rear camera specs and battery capacity. So from the brand position point of view, it is reasonable that Xiaomi classifies the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro as the Xiaomi Mi 9 series smartphones.
The Xiaomi brand may be known by most of people, while the Redmi was just independent from Xiaomi last year. So the name Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro may be more familiar to global users.
As we know, OnePlus smartphones have a big market share in the global market, so Xiaomi wants to compete with it, and adopting the similar way of naming for its product is its first step to show their intention.
What do you think about that the Redmi K20 Pro was launched as Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro in the European market?
