Xiaomi Mi Max 4 should be characterized by the use of a 7.2-inch screen, a choice that could definitely retire the 7-inch tablets. Under the shell, protected on both sides by glass, there should be a Mobile Platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, with CPU octa core and GPU Adreno 512, flanked by 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal memory, not expandable as is the tradition for the Mi series.
Once again, special attention should be paid to the photographic sector, with a 48 megapixel rear sensor, the same Samsung ISOCELL GM1 that was used on Redmi Note 7 and that has proven to be able to get results from the top of the range.
Among other features we should find a 5,800 mAh battery, with support for fast charging at 18W and the operating system Android 9 Pie, on which should run MIUI 11.
The presence of a huge 7.2-inch screen will result in particularly exaggerated dimensions, despite the use of small frames. It is not clear if a fingerprint reader will be used again in the back cover or if a reader integrated in the screen will be used, a choice much more unlikely given the price range in which the smartphone should be placed.
The large size should allow you to integrate a 5,800 mAh battery, slightly larger than last year's model, when a 5,500 mAh battery was integrated. Xiaomi should use Gorilla Glass 5 glass on both sides of the device for a more "premium" design.
Xiaomi Mi Max 4 should use MIUI 11, the new version of the firmware of the Chinese manufacturer that should be presented next spring, based of course on Android 9 Pie. It is likely to have Super Night mode, which dramatically improves the quality of images taken in poor lighting conditions or at night, thanks to the likely presence of the 48 megapixel sensor.
There should be a massive presence of artificial intelligence, with interventions both in the photographic sector and in the operation of the system.
The presentation of Xiaomi Mi Max 4 is scheduled for the second half of 2019. The first hypotheses regarding the sale price have already been made, which could start from 1,599 yuan (206 euro) for the 4-64 GB version, passing through the 1,799 yuan (234 euro) of the 6-64 GB variant and ending with the 1,999 yuan (260 euro) for the 6-128 GB variant.
