This is probably one of the great new features of MIUI 11, and that is that users will finally be able to have an application drawer that is already being tested by the company. The feature has been discovered in the alpha version of Xiaomi's Launcher, with version "4.10.6.1025-06141703". According to the screenshots that have been accessed from XDA, it shows how the user will be able to touch the central button of the application bar at the bottom of the screen, to open the application drawer.

Activate the application drawer

When the application drawer is opened, the first thing shown are those apps that have been used recently, while the rest are shown in traditional alphabetical order. An arrow has been added to the upper part which, when touched, will close the applications drawer, but this cannot be done by means of a sliding gesture for the moment. This function has been very requested by MIUI users, who have seen how other launchers such as the Poco Launcher, do offer this functionality.

Unlike the Poco Launcher, the MIUI Launcher can only be installed on mobile phones that have this layer. Although as we say, it is an Alpha version of the Launcher, and therefore, with possible errors not detected, if you have a Xiaomi with MIUI 10 you can download it and try it from this link.

Other novelties

Another novelty revealed by this Alpha version of the MIUI Launcher are the application shortcuts. It is a function that is activated when the icon of any application is left pressed. In this way you can interact quickly with many of the functions of these apps, such as uninstall, access a specific function within the app or display its information.
