Although not everything is confirmed, we now have a lot of information and news.
In order to create expectations in the market and among consumers, Lu Weibing, the head of Redmi, published on his social networks the official names for these smartphones. They will certainly be devices with some specifications worthy of the best top-of-the-range in the market.
At the same time, this hypothesis has been raised since the beginning of the year. Even so, we would have to wait until today (14), for the company to confirm the launch of the new smartphones. Therefore, we will have the Redmi K20 Pro, the flagship, as well as a more accessible version, the Redmi K20.
While the subsidiary will continue to focus on the price/quality ratio, the new smartphones represent the crowning moment of its affirmation in the market. So, according to the executive himself, we will have devices with a retractable front camera and Qualcomm's coveted Snapdragon 855 processor.
Redmi's business strategy was defined by its parent company, Xiaomi. Even so, Redmi wants to bring the next smartphones to new markets, focusing mainly on India. Similarly, the marketing strategy employed evokes the motto previously used by the Chinese rival, OnePlus.
These are the next flagship killers or top-of-the-range alternatives and thus justify the "K" in its name. Similarly, Xiaomi will help the distribution of these new smartphones to the markets where it is present and it is here that among POCO F2 and despite being rumored, the publication DroidShout advances a new thesis.
In some markets, the Redmi K20 Pro could become more familiar, especially in Western markets. Regions that have already surrendered, or know well the Pocophone F1, the smartphone with top features and low-cost price. Using the POCO F2 nomenclature would therefore be understandable.
We are, therefore, counting on two new smartphones, one of which should arrive as Redmi K20, the killer that should have a top SoC. Nevertheless, the Redmi K20 Por can assume the identity of POCO F2, adding some more assets and assert itself in Western markets.
Under Xiaomi's tutelage we have a two-pronged strategy between the two brands. Two vectors of penetration in new markets, sharing the economic premise. We also point to the essentially definitive nature of the launch of two smartphones, thus marking the genesis of a new range.
Two smartphones with different colors - black, blue and red - in addition to various RAM and storage configurations. We will thus have a base version for the K20 with 6 GB + 64 GB and we will go up to 8 GB and 256 GB for the Redmi K20 Pro. The operating system will be Android Pie with MIUI 10.
Similarly, the most modest smartphone should be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730 processor. On the other hand, the K20 Pro and possible POCO F2 will then have the top platform, the Snapdragon 855. To protect the screen, we have the latest generation Gorilla Glass 6 glass.
Starting from an AMOLED screen of 6.39 inches with Full-HD+ resolution, therefore 2340 x 1080 pixels. With 6 to 8 GB of RAM and 64 to 256 GB of internal storage - Pro version. Not to mention the 48 MP + 13 MP + 8 MP triple camera, possibly with optical zoom.
We will also have a front retractable camera of 32 MP (or 20 MP), in addition to a battery with 4000 mAh capacity and support for fast charging at 27 W. In fact, according to the leaks of information we also have the support for NFC, audio port P2, in addition to the USB port of Type C.
However, we already see this smartphone apparently being used by Xiaomi's co-founder, Lin Bin. There, we also see the confirmation of its retractable front camera, a possible asset of the Pro version. On the other hand, we still don't know what the building material will be, with glass and acrylic being the most likely.
Finally, the question remains as to whether one of these smartphones will actually be POCO F2. We now await the official presentation of these devices.
