The front panel almost completely occupies the screen. On the back side is a fingerprint scanner in the center, above it is a large unit with cameras, as well as a flash. On the left side is a hybrid slot for 2 Nano SIM/Micro SD, on the right side is a power button and a volume control. The bottom end traditionally has a Type-C connector, audio connector, microphone and speaker.

The size of Redmi Note 8 Pro is not ergonomic. Although the device is thin but bulky, we still deal with a 6.53 inch screen. In addition, the coating of the case is slippery and without a case smartphone can easily fall out of the hands.

But even though the case is slippery and the size is palpable, the Note 8 Pro can be rewarded for its cute design. The smartphone looks modern and at the same time different from its predecessor and other models on the market.

Display

Traditionally, Xiaomi has equipped its sub-flags with a bright IPS screen with a droplet neckline. In the case of Note 8 Progot, this is a 6.53-inch display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The display is characterized by a wide range of brightness, contrast, natural color display. The automatic brightness function adequately responds to the environment. On a sunny day, information is easily perceived from the screen, and in the dark the backlight level does not strain eyes.

In the settings menu you can adjust the color palette (from cold to warm), contrast. The display looks spectacular, particularly thanks to the small frames.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Rho screen is remarkable, with the widest possible viewing angles and an eye-catching color palette. It's easy to read books and watch videos from the display.

Performance

Redmi Note 8 Pro is released with the MediaTek Helio G90T processor, which is positioned as a platform above the middle class. As a graphics accelerator - ARM Mali-G76 MC4. The smartphone is equipped with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of constant memory. The latter can be increased by microSD.

Benchmark results confirm that the smartphone belongs to the middle class. In practice, with the device can count on a stable, fast interface, applications and games.

As for the latter - Redmi Note 8 Pro can handle most games. Asphalt 9 is comfortable to play with high graphics settings. In 15 minutes of gaming session the body only slightly warms up.

During daily use, you won't have to complain about Redmi Note 8 Pro performance. All applications run as fast as possible. Switching between the windows, you don't notice the brakes, and the memory contains up to a dozen of running applications.

Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on the latest MIUI 11 operating system based on Android Pie.

Camera

The viewer received four cameras: the main 64 megapixel with aperture f/1.8, 2 megapixel depth finder, 2 megapixel macro lens and 8 megapixel wide-angle camera.

The photos on the main module come out remarkable: with the right white balance, excellent detail, natural colors and wide dynamic range.

The disadvantage is that the photos taken on the 64 megapixel main module weigh an average of 10MB, and if you use HDR, the photo size can reach 30MB.

The add-on module adequately determines the depth and blurs the background in portrait photos. There are questions about the quality of photos taken with a macro lens, as detailed photos are obtained with higher quality on the main module.

The front 20 megapixel camera with a light sensitivity of f/2.0 has no autofocus or flash, but takes decent photos in daylight.

The interface of the camera is laconic and clear, it is easy to find all possible options, night mode, AI functions that allow you to determine the scene.

As for the medium price segment, the camera in Redmi Note 8 Rho is more than magnificent. There is no optical stabilization, but high luminosity allows you to get a quality photo in almost any lighting.

Autonomy and sound

Redmi Note 8 Pro has a battery capacity of 4500 mAh. In practice, we get almost two days of battery life with about 8 hours of screen time (Internet, calls, messengers, camera, watching video). If you are fond of games, the battery life of the smartphone is enough for a day.

USB Type-C connector is used for charging. Smartphone supports Quick Charge system. With a complete power adapter for 18 Watt charge level is restored from 10 to 46% in half an hour. It takes an hour and forty minutes to fully charge.

Multimedia Speaker One. It's loud enough, the incoming call can be heard well on the street or in transport. To listen to music, you need to connect an external speaker - then there's enough range and depth to hear it. The sound quality of the conversational speaker is good.

Additional features

The device works with current wireless modules - Wi-Fi ac 5.0, Bluetooth 5.0. They are characterized by uninterrupted stable operation. Finally, Xiaomi has a subfunctional NFC module, which is needed for contactless payments via Google Pay.

There is an IR port, which allows you to turn on your TV, air conditioning and other home devices with your smartphone.

The smartphone supports various unlocking methods: by using a fingerprint scanner and by recognizing the owner's face. The fingerprint sensor area is not very large, it is located under the photo modules.

During the first days of use, misses occur in the search for the sensor, often touching the lens with your finger instead. The speed and correctness of the finger scanner is excellent: the fingerprint is read instantly.

A camera is used to recognize faces, which means that in low light a smartphone may not recognize the owner. There are no notes about the scanner's operation in daylight.

Competitors

The cost of the basic version of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro for 64 GB is UAH 5999. A 128GB drive modification is also available. The amount of RAM in both versions is 6 GB. Choose from three colors - Mineral Gray, as on the overview, Forest Green and Pearl White.

For the same price you can buy the Samsung Galaxy A30s, which has a good autonomy. In addition, in the case of a Korean does not have to sacrifice a second SIM in favor of the card Micro SD. If performance is a priority, it is better to choose Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Huawei P30 Lite in version 4/128 GB can be purchased for UAH 6799. The device has a cool screen, an excellent performance reserve for basic tasks, more elegant ePronomics. The hero of the view, in turn, has a better margin of autonomy and is more suitable for games.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

Lightweight flagship Xiaomi Mi 9 SE now costs 6999 UAH. The device is equipped with an AMOLED screen, and besides, it has compact forms according to modern standards. But Redmi Note 8 Pro, unlike the Mi 9 SE, is not without an audio jack.

Conclusion

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is a great middle class smartphone with a hint of flagship features. The device has an unprecedented level of performance, a cool camera, a sufficient level of autonomy. The hero of the review will notice in a crowd of such smartphones thanks to an interesting design.

The latest operating systems and shell, as well as support for current wireless modules, additionally tilt the scale in favor of Redmi Note 8 Pro. If earlier Xiaomi sub-factors were inferior to the competitors due to the lack of NFC, now Note 8 Pro can't be reproached for that. And given the cost, the device is now almost the most balanced device in its class.
