AMD's original goal was to play a 7nm chip against 10nm chips from Intel to at least return to a game. Unexpectedly, the pace of research and development was faster than planned, and Intel introduced the 7nm chip, which was the first company to form the product on this process node. The new process has fundamentally changed the way the device is built into the transistor, and all IT support in the optimization and operating process has been adapted. This improvement serves not only to redesign the process module, but also to plan the entire microarchitecture system.
AMD's Zen 2 and Zen 3 x86 chips are manufactured using 7nm technology, which, like the previous 28nm chips, is difficult to break through. In 7nm chip stack operation, the first result of this node is achieved by combining the new double pattern technology and the combination of FinFET transistors. AMD and the foundry are also building closer collaboration by using quadruple pattern lithography standards in key processes to reduce the total area of the chip, resulting in lower costs and shorter design and development cycles.
Chip foundries that manufacture X86 architectures begin developing the 7nm stack technology that is the industry standard. Currently, AMD competitor NVIDIA can provide its customers with a 2.5D chipset GPU that interacts directly with memory using the chip's high-speed inserter, reads graphics faster, but has high cost and does not have the strength to compete with AMD chips.
AMD's R & D team has a strong reserve, the chip design module has been updated and the custom CPU and GPU requirements have been subjected to relevant verification tests, which have also opened up opportunities and hit Intel and Nvidia. Hit
