Games enjoy great popularity in the App Store. According to Apple, over 300,000 free titles are available here for free download. Apple Arcade: Release on Apple TV and iPad only later

On September 19, Google officially released the service for iPhone and iPod Touch. To announce the new iPhone 11 devices, Apple has also announced that the service on iPad and Apple TV will start a little later, on September 30, 2019. Mac owners, on the other hand, will have to wait until October 2019.

What games will Apple Arcade offer?

Apple Arcade aims to have about 100 different games. This catalog will be rotating, adding new titles and removing others to keep the freshness of your selection. All of them are unique games not found on other platforms.

At the keynote speech in September, Apple highlighted three titles for Apple Arcade: a new offshoot of the classic Frogger, an underwater game called Shinsekai: Into the Depths and an action game called Sayonara Wild Hearts. All games on Apple Arcade are also exclusive titles that you won't find on any other platform. Other exclusive games are The Enchanted World, Patterned, Overland and Card of Darkness.

According to Apple, they collaborate with indie developers as well as renowned game designers. Apple names Will Wright (Sim City, The Sims) and Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy). Titles by well-known publishers such as Sega and Konami are also on offer. Which games have been confirmed for Apple Arcade so far.

Of course the games are only available as long as you have an active Apple Arcade subscription. Google also gives details about the future of Apple Arcade. The games catalogue of the service will be updated with new software every month.

According to Apple, you can switch seamlessly between the devices - so the scores are synchronized. You can also download the games, so you don't need an online connection. Support for Xbox and PS4 controllers

Apple also confirmed that you can pair your PS4 and Xbox One controller with your Apple TV and use it for selected Apple arcade games.
