iPhone 9 (also known as iPhone SE 2) will have a 4.7-inch LCD display and a "Home" button with built-in Touch ID. Now, thanks to the iOS 14 code snippet, more information about the new iPhone has emerged.
First of all, it seems that Apple is also working on a larger version of iPhone 9, which may be named iPhone 9 Plus. Considering that these iPhone should replace the iPhone 8 series with 4.7in and 5.5in versions, this is in line with Apple's name.
The iPhone 9/Plus will have a physical Home button that is introduced with iPhone 7 and remains on the iPhone 8 phone. This means that the Home button is not actually pressed because it uses Taptic Engine to simulate clicks and reduce hardware failures.
Because they are entry-level models, iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus will provide Touch ID instead of Face ID. Users will be able to use the Apple Pay and Express Transit features, which are not available on some older versions of iPhone. The new model will also be able to scan NFC tags in the background, which previously existed on iPhone XR,iPhone XS and iPhone 11 and is not supported by iPhone 8 or iPhone X.
There is evidence that both will carry the A13 Bionic chip, which is the same processor used in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. For some people who are still using older models (such as iPhone 6 and iPhone 7), this should make the iPhone 9/Plus more attractive and cheaper.
It should be noted that the names of iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus here are still speculative, and there are also revelations that they are iPhone SE 2 phones. It is expected to be released this spring, after the official release of iOS 13.4.
