Until now MIUI had never had an application drawer, rather these were added directly to the desktop in the purest Apple iOS style. In that way, our phone’s screen is always occupied by too many apps.
However, with the arrival of app drawer, our home screen is significantly extended. We just need to retain several main apps on the home screen, and let other apps stay at the app drawer. Moreover, the app drawer will put all the recently used apps on the top and you just need to swipe up on the home screen to access it.
In addition, this new app drawer is fully customizable, so we can set its appearance, the way to classify applications or even the way by gestures we want to open it.
To activate the app drawer on your phone, you just need to:
● Go to Settings - Home screen - Activate the "With app drawer" mode.
As we said, this new function has begun to deploy in the Chinese ROM of MIUI 11 stable version, so it is expected that the MIUI 11 global version will get app drawer update in the coming weeks. Want to know when your Xiaomi phones will receive the MIUI 11 global version update? You can check the update plan in this guide: NOTE: These Xiaomi and Redmi phones will get MIUI 11 and Android 10 update by the end of 2019.
