According to the new data, in the first quarter of 2020, we are waiting for desktop CPU Comet Lake. Despite the fact that neither the architecture nor the technical process will change with respect to the current Intel processors, Intel Comet Lake will move to a new socket - the LGA 1200. However, if we remember the notorious principle of "tick-tock", we can assume that the Intel processor socket in general changes not for Comet Lake, but for desktop Ice Lake. On the other hand, all the early leaks and rumors indicated that we would not get desktop 10 nanometre processors until at least 2021, so it is not very clear why we should implement such changes in early 2020.
Anyway, the Comet Lake processors will bring something new. The older CPUs in this line will be 10-core. Once again, we can thank AMD and the success of Ryzen, because without these processors, Intel may have had six-core top-of-the-line CPUs in the desktop segment next year as well.
The senior processors of Comet Lake will have TDP 125W, although in fact it has been achieved for a long time, as the same Core i9-9900K does not meet the officially declared value (95W)
