The height of the device is approximately 25 cm, and the equipment includes a camera, an array of microphones and 16 sensor sensors, allowing it to see, hear and respond to touch. The robot can talk, but the eyes on the IPS panel are the most expressive means of communication in its arsenal. They are designed to convey emotions ranging from anger and fear to surprise and joy. In addition, Kiki uses sign language, tilting and turning the head. Unfortunately, the robot's ability to move is not possible.
Developers note another feature of the robot - despite the fact that it requires more processing power, almost all AI operations are performed on site, without recourse to the cloud. As it is asserted, so the big confidentiality is provided and reaction time is reduced. The only situation where the Kiki necessarily needs an Internet connection is when the software is updated.
According to the creators of the Kiki, the robot is trained as it is used. Moreover, the "character" formed as a result of daily interaction remains in the robot's memory and can be copied into a new copy if the robot fails.
Currently, the creators of the robot are raising funds for its release, so it is not clear whether it will come to mass production. If so, fundraisers can expect to receive a Kiki for $799.
