Samsung has already confirmed on its official website that the Exynos 990 has code number S5E9830, and the last four numbers of the code coincide with the nomenclature used by the manufacturer used as a codename for the high-performance chipset before its official release, the Exynos 9830 itself.
Currently the Exynos 9820 and the Exynos 9825 are the main Samsung platforms in use - the first in Galaxy S10 and the second in Galaxy Note 10 -, but by the way the company decided to get rid of the more complex numbering and simplify once and for all, facilitating the understanding for users in countries that Samsung still insists on using its own chipset, which includes Brazil, Canada, China and the United States.
The new Exynos 990 will be the main competitor of Snapdragon 865 that arrives in December with many differentials similar to Samsung's chipset, including the 5G modem integrated to the platform, support for photographic sensors above 100 MP, efficient UFS 3.0 storage and more that has not yet been confirmed.
The Exynos 990 is expected to first be launched in partnership with Vivo for the X30 and X30 Pro flagship phones, with Samsung using its own chipset only in late February with the announcement of the Galaxy S11 line.
