Summit, Qualcomm also announced a partnership with Nintendo to develop reference hardware, software and cloud components for augmented reality headsets.
This is a long-term partnership aimed at accelerating the development of AR software and hardware, but exactly when we will see their products remains to be seen. Nintendo's reference hardware and software design will of course be optimized for Qualcomm's XR2 platform, which Nintendo says is the first extended reality system to support 5G and the first to play 8K, 360-degree video. This will also help Qualcomm understand the standard features and specifications of XR2 platform reality enhanced glasses.
In addition, Qualcomm's platform will run Nintendo's real-world platform (Real World Platform), the platform that drives Pokemon GO and Harry Potter: the Alliance of Wizards. Nintendo will adjust the platform to make it compatible with Qualcomm's XR2 platform. Once the adjustment is completed, they will open up the Creator incubation Program, which will be launched in 2020 to everyone.
