Mr. Lu Weibing, Redmi's chief executive officer, had already revealed a few things in August 2019, when he mentioned that the new equipment would have 5G support. However, during the launch event he revealed some more details.
According to him, the Redmi K30, or the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G, will support 5G both in SA mode (Standalone) and NSA mode (Non-Standalone). NSA implementations are present in the first 5G networks that are supported by the current 4G networks. The standalone, as the name indicates, are independent networks that will be used in the new implementations. The advantage of this is to guarantee that the new Redmi bet will be compatible with any 5G implementation.
Otherwise, the Redmi K30 will also have a double camera on the front. This is in a pill-shaped hole. In other words, Redmi is doing an all-in and as such is adopting all the new trends in smartphones. It was the monocles (bigger and smaller) and now the holes in the screen.
The release date for the new Redmi K30 is not yet known. Xiaomi Mi 9 was released in February 2019, while Xiaomi Mi 9T / Redmi K20 was released in June 2019. Thus it is likely that the Redmi K30/Xiaomi Mi 10T will arrive in early 2020.
