This Thursday, Xiaomi officially unveiled its two new entry-level smartphones, the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro. The latter is the first smartphone of the Chinese manufacturer to offer a 64 megapixel photo sensor. Xiaomi's rhythm on his Redmi Note scale is definitely relentless. While the manufacturer launched the Redmi Note 7 last February, it took less than six months for it to unveil its successor. This Thursday, Xiaomi officially presented its new Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro in China

However, there are some design differences between the two smartphones. While the Redmi Note 8 offers a photo module positioned vertically at the top left, the one in Note 8 is centered on the back of the camera, with a design that is partly reminiscent of Oppo's Reno range. In both cases, the fingerprint reader is located on the back of the smartphone.

Large differences between the two models

For the classic Redmi Note 8, Xiaomi has integrated a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip, which is more powerful than the Snapdragon 660 in Redmi Note 7. There is also a 6.3-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ definition and a small notch for the 13 megapixel sensor for selfies. For memory, Xiaomi has planned versions with 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. Finally, the Redmi Note 8 includes a 4000 mAh battery compatible with the 18W fast charge.

For its part, the Redmi Note 8 Pro offers a very different technical data sheet from that of its little brother. For the chip, it is a MediaTek Helio G90T SoC, backed by 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. The LCD screen is also larger, with a diagonal of 6.53 inches even if the definition remains the same, in Full HD+. There is also a small notch on the front for the 20 megapixel sensor used for selfies. Finally, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro includes a 4500 mAh battery.

So far, the two smartphones have only been officially introduced in China. The Redmi Note 8 is announced from 999 yuan, or 126 euros excluding tax, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro is displayed from 1399 yuan, or 176 euros excluding tax.
