Matching water consumption to the floor

To start with, the Roborock S5 Max has an electric water tank with twice the capacity of previous models. This way, we guarantee that you can sweep and scrub our entire house without any problems. In addition, the water tank of this new robot vacuum cleaner of the Chinese firm, has a water control system, so we can manage the amount of water used on each surface. In the application, you can choose how much water is used when wiping, depending on the room and the type of floor. For example, in the kitchen, where the floor is usually relatively dirty, the wiping robot cleans with more water than in other rooms. Once the Roborock S5 Max has done its job, it closes the water supply and drives into its docking station.

To ensure that the carpet is not accidentally wiped, you can use the app to set up restricted zones. In this way, the S5 Max only wipes the areas it is supposed to wipe. If you remove the wiping unit, the restricted zones no longer apply, and the S5 Max can vacuum the entire apartment. Even though it has a wiping function, vacuuming is its main feature.

Roborock S5 Max maps the apartment

A laser range finder, which scans the premises, helps the suction robot with orientation. The collected data is evaluated by an algorithm and used to create a map of your home. In the app you can then define cleaning plans for certain rooms or the entire home. Thanks to its sensors, the suction robot also finds its way around, recognizing obstacles, steps and stairs.

Roborock wants to present the S5 Max at IFA 2019, which starts on September 6th. The price is not yet known. In addition, the manufacturer will be presenting the Roborock 6 model, which is already available on the market.
