So what's the problem? According to Elon Mask, the problem was in the very demonstration of strength of the hull when the door was hit with a sledgehammer. The head of Tesla claims that the impact damaged the glass, which is why it cracked in the next ball test.
However, if you remember the demonstration, it is clear that the sledgehammer hit was not that hard, and still hit the door. Perhaps some design features have played a role, which is why the glass takes on too much energy during this impact.
Anyway, there's still plenty of time before the truck gets off the road, so Tesla can fix it.
Let's remind also that the mask recently explained why Cybertruck has such a strange design.
Tesla has already collected 200,000 pre-orders for its Cybertruck. Yes, you only have to pay $100 when registering, so it is still a question of how many people will eventually refuse to buy a car. But the number of orders will obviously still grow, and for Tesla it is additional money. Anyway, that's not what it's about right now.
Elon Mask has decided to explain why Cybertruck looks the way it looks. It turned out that the reason is quite simple and is not connected with the design itself.
Let's remind, the case of Tesla Cybertruck is made of high-strength steel. To be more precise, it is listed as 30X on the Tesla website. And, as Elon Mask himself declared, this steel does not give in to stamping, so the chopped and primitive forms of a body of a pickup truck are caused by absence of possibility to make differently.
However, it is quite possible that the Mask originally wanted to make a Tesla pickup truck about this, and only then was born the idea with high-strength steel.
