Will FaceApp divulge privacy?

There has been an ongoing debate about personal digital security because of the recent fire of a map-fixing software that can wrinkle faces. The software, called FaceApp, developed by Russian developers, has been online for more than two years, but has recently become popular because of the participation of a number of celebrities in the "FaceApp Challenge."

FaceApp has the ability to add a smiling face to a photo or make people look transgender. Most of the celebrities who take part in the "FaceApp" challenge are to make themselves look older and let fans know what they will look like in the future.

For example, someone has an old "Sheldon":

However, the popularity of the app is accompanied by concerns about its use of user data and images. There are concerns about whether FaceApp will get photos without the user's permission. The researchers say these concerns are unfounded.

But that doesn't mean users don't have to worry at all. Security experts say that while FaceApp does not steal all camera photos from users, installing the software is not risk-free.

Justin Brookman, head of privacy and technology policy at Consumer Reports, said the user agreement for the app should be a cause for concern.

"be careful to upload sensitive data to this company, not only because they don't take privacy seriously, but also because they reserve a lot of rights to your photos." Brookman said.

Brookman said FaceApp's privacy policy allows the company to do anything about photos uploaded to its server, and its terms of use give the company a wide range of licenses to use the photos as it sees fit.

"they may turn your photos into advertising photos in Russia," Brookman said. "it is well known that Russia has always liked to use personal information."

FaceApp denies claims to collect user identity information and sell photos of users.

In a statement, FaceApp said that "99 per cent of users will not log in, so we do not have access to any identity data" and that they "do not sell or share any user data to any third party".
