Without any doubt, the image system is the core of Xiaomi Mi Note 10, supported by most of the costs of the entire mobile phone.
Thus, this article is mainly about this camera. Though its DXOMark score is high, I don't care too much about it.
The 108MP HMX sensor is the main component of this imaging system, with a larger size, a higher 4-in-1 pixel, and a satisfying single-pixel area, and even support for OIS.
But I hold the idea that the 2L7 image sensor on a 50mm telephoto camera is an excellent exploration.
In September 2019, Huawei Mate 30 Pro introduces CMOS sensors with similar specifications to the sub camera and primary camera for the first time. The slightly narrow super wide-angle lens coupled with a 40MP CMOS sensor performs better than the super wide-angle lens of almost all mobile phones, whether day or night. It is ideal for such a great camera to create landscape shots.
Now Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is equipped with a Samsung 2L7 image sensor, the master level CMOS on the 50mm standard focal length. In the past, using a 50mm focal length in less light will lead to fuzzy details. With a 2L7 sensor, this situation is much better, for the longer focal length narrows the field of view, simplifying the elements of a photo.
For me, there are many landscapes based on focal lengths of 50mm or more. I have also seen many magnificent landscape shots based on 50 to 70mm focal lengths. Better image quality means more possibilities for marvelous creation. From this aspect, Xiaomi's exploration takes a success. I wish that more and more mobile phones would use large-size CMOS in the telephoto lens in the future.

Compared to its image system, the performance of other components of Xiaomi Mi Note 10 may not be so satisfying. Like the Snapdragon 730G processor, the performance is at the general level, whereas, Snapdragon 855 SoC and UFS3.0 can be gained from its competitors with a similar cost.
The AMOLED curved screen from Visionox is commonplace. According to the test data of axon10p, it does not even perform better than HUAWEI P30 Pro. Although the target positioning of Xiaomi Mi Note 10 isn't that high, the quality of this screen is inferior to that of most mobile phones at the same price.
With 30W-quick-charge technology, it only takes 67 minutes to charge the 5000mAh battery fully, which is acceptable.
For Xiaomi, the meaning of Mi Note 10 is to pave the way for the Mi Mix 4 and Mi 10 later. This camera module, coupled with optimized software, must be competitive with rivals at the same price.
For the competitors, this camera module will also add pressure to them and promote their progress. There is no doubt that this is also a good deed, and finally, the customers can reap the maximum benefits.
For the overall configurations, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is very suitable for users who like photographing because of the unique image system.
Besides, this price is very appropriate, much lower than what I ever guessed. However, for users who don't have special needs for photos, or have demand for high excellent screen or performance, other products with balanced configurations may be conformed to expectations.
