That being said, the 4K action camera such as SJ9 StrikeSJ8 Pro, and SJ7 Star, have been simply outstanding.


That being said, that company will be soon releasing the SJCAM SJ10 Pro for its customers around the globe. If you are thinking to buy a new SJCAM action camera and cannot decide whether to wait for the upcoming SJ10 series, then you have come to the right place.

SJ10 Pro


SJ10 Pro is the new and upcoming action camera of SJCAM. While the complete specification hasn't been made available as of now, it is expected to come with a 2.33-inch touch screen on the back and 0.96-inch screen display on the front. The device is supposed to be powered with an Ambarella H22 chipset and a Sony IMX377 sensor. 

With a 12 MP camera you will be able to capture photos and videos in 4K at 60 FPS. The super-smooth gyro stabilization will ensure that all the images and videos are crystal clear and crisp. 


In addition to this, the action camera will also come with a waterproof rating, which means you can capture photos and videos underwater without any difficulties. As per the official tweet from the company, they have improved the waterproof rating even more as compared to some of the other models. The design has been revamped and looks more appealing as compared to previous models. 


In terms of battery size, it is yet to be known but it will come with type-C charging and will support faster charging.


SJ9 Strike


SJ9 Strike is a 4K action camera that comes with a 2.33-inch screen display with a 60FPS video frame rate. It comes with an IPS screen display that is perfect for travelers for video blogging. The super-smooth gyro sensor in the action camera ensures that you get a stable output with a butter-smooth image. The camera is powered with Ambarella H22S85 chipset. 


The action camera is waterproof thus ensuring that you can take images and video underwater, without compromising on your costly gadgets. With a waterproof body of up to 10 meters, you can take crisp and clear images from the action camera inside water. It comes with Sony IMX377 sensor to offer excellent image and video quality. You can even live stream the video as it happens to your friends and families on social media.

 
With a battery capacity of 1300 mAh, you can use the action camera to record long videos and take photos for a longer duration of time. Apart from this, it comes with wireless charging technology and with a Type-C charging interface. The action camera can be connected with Wi-Fi, up to a distance of 10 meters. That being said, there is no autofocus and night vision. However, you get access to time-lapse and remote control features.


SJ8 Pro
SJ8 Pro comes with a dual-screen display. It has a 2.33-inch touch screen at the back and 0.96-inch front screen. Like the SJ9 Strike, the SJ8 Pro also comes with an IPS display. The device is powered with Ambarella H22 SOC that allows you to capture 4K videos at 60 FPS with a 12 MP camera. 

With gyro stabilization and 8x digital zoom, you can take amazing photos and videos with the SJ8 Pro. However, the gyro sensor isn't available with a super smooth feature as that of the Sj9 Strike. 


It comes with an IP68 rating, which means that the device is waterproof up to 30 meters. You can take videos and photos inside water, without any difficulties. The device comes with a 1200 mAh battery capacity, which ensures you can take 4K videos for up to 90 minutes without any heating problems. It has a type-C interface that provides a faster charging facility.

 
With the Wi-Fi function, you can share your videos in real-time with your friends and families. You can connect to the Wi-Fi up to 10 meters. That being said there is no auto-focus functionality in the SJ8 Pro. However, you get a remote control and time-lapse features.


SJ7 Star


The SJ7 Star 4K camera comes with a 2-inch touch screen display with a screen resolution of 320 x 240. The screen type used in the SJ7 Star is LTPS, which isn't as smooth and good as the IPS display type. The device is powered with Ambarella A12S75 and comes with an IMX117 CMOS sensor and 12 MP camera. With a 166-degree wide-angle camera, you can get the most out of your small shot.

 
With the fitted waterproof case, you can take underwater shots up to 30 meters. Thus, there is no need to worry about the damage caused to your expensive gadgets. The device comes with a 1000 mAh in-built battery, which offers a 2 hour working time. However, there is no Type-C charging interface available with the SJ7 Star. 


While there is no night vision feature available with the SJ7 Star, you do get remote control functionality. As compared to the other models discussed above, it doesn't offer time-lapse functionality.

 

Price

The price of the SJ10 Pro has not been released by the company as of yet. However, the SJ9 Strike is available for a price of $272.66 on Gearbest.com. Whereas the SJ8 Pro and SJ7 Star are available for a price of $207.13 and $199.21. All of these 3 action cameras are currently available on Gearbest.com for an excellent price.

Conclusion

While the specs of the SJ10 Pro haven't been completely released yet, there are some differences between the other action cameras discussed above. The S9 Strike comes with a more advanced chipset and improves gyro sensors, which allows you to capture more smooth and crisp pictures as compared to SJ8 Pro and SJ7 Star.

 
Apart from this, there is no time-lapse feature available in SJ7 Star, which is available with SJ8 Pro and SJ9 Strike. However, the SJ8 Pro has a better waterproof rating than the other action cameras. According to the official statement made by the company, the SJ10 Pro is expected to come with an even better waterproof rating. However, no details have been made available on it as of now. 


Thus, whether it is worth waiting or not, will only be known once the company offers more details on the complete specifications. Overall, it is expected that there won't be much of a difference between SJ9 Strike and SJ10 Pro. Thus, if you do not want to spend more than $300 on your action camera, the SJ9 Strike is worth considering at the moment.
