The emerging Chinese brand BMAX returns to be talked about with a new low-cost ultrabook, the BMAX Maxbook X14, well cared for in its technical construction, and carefully designed in the choice of hardware components. BMAX , a Chinese technology brand active in the branch of mini pcs and laptops, present in various markets (including Italy) also through stores on Amazon, has recently added to its hardware bouquet a new ultra-thin and light laptop, the BMAX Maxbook X14.
The frame of the BMAX Maxbook X14 laptop is compact in size (323 x 217 × 15.0 mm) thanks to the adoption of special precautions: one of these is represented by the very contained frames on 3 of the 4 sides of the display, an IPS LCD panel (178 °) from 14.1 inches, with FullHD resolution, 83% of screen-to-body ratio, and 72% on the NTSC color range, while the other is based on just 3 mm of edge on the sides of the keyboard, a backlit keyboard, with normal size keys, equipped with a large touchpad. The use of aluminum for the chassis also made it possible to keep the weight down to 1.4 kg .
Present a 2-megapixel webcam in the low frame of the display, between two microphones, the multimedia segment of the BMAX MaxBook 14 continues with a Magic Sound system, consisting of 4 front speakers combined with two amplification chambers, and a side jack to 3.5mm for wired headphones.
The processing units of the BMAX Maxbook X14 are quite recent, with the eighth generation (Gemini Lake) of the Intel N4100 processor (from 1.1 to 2.4 GHz in Turbo Boost) and the ninth generation of the Intel UHD 600 graphics card (for videos also 4K @ 60fps): the RAM (LPDDR4) amounts to 8 GB , while the storage – expandable via microSD cards – reaches 256 GB of M.2 SSD, easily removable – in an upgrade perspective – via a back door.
The on-board connectivity has been updated, given the support for Wi-Fi ac dual-band and Bluetooth 5.0 , the BMAX Maxbook X14 proves to be very autonomous, by virtue of the 10,000 mAh (38.0 Wh) battery , which can be loaded via a special input, do not occupy the USB Type-C, present on one side, with the one affixed which houses a 3.0.
