A new division from Xiaomi has presented another new smartwatch, which is called Mibro Air. This is a newbie company and the Mibro Air smartwatch is the first device in their range.
Will the new model from Mibro be able to demonstrate some uniqueness and originality? Let’s find out about all this in a detailed review.
Briefly about the technical features, the new Mibro Air watch has a 1.28 inch TFT screen. In addition, there is a modern wireless connection Bluetooth 5.0, 200 mAh battery capacity, full protection from water IP68, and many other useful chips.
Screen: 1.29 inch TFT screen 240 x 240 pixels
Sensor: Heart-rate monitor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer
IP standart: IP68 waterproof
Connection: Bluetooth 5.0
Standby time: up to 10 days
Size: 42 x 42 x 9.2 mm
Xiaomi Mibro Air is a typical round dial smartwatch, which is already abundant in the mobile device market. For example, I can lead a number of competitors with a similar design – everyone’s favorite Haylou Solar LS05 and IMILAB KW66.
But if you look at the performance materials, then Mibro Air received a body made of a metal alloy. But the back panel is made of matte durable plastic. According to my preference, it will even be a kind of a plus, since in cold weather, plastic will not cool your wrist, like metal.
At the same time, I have no complaints about the build quality at all. Every joint and gap are precise and free from extraneous sounds.
It was a pleasure to wear the Mibro Air. I didn’t feel any fatigue or discomfort. I can also note that due to its low weight and size, it will be comfortable even for teenagers or women to wear the watch. I also felt comfortable sleeping in a wearable watch and this is a very rare occurrence for many wearable devices.
The other side is IP68 water protection. Of course, the device is completely waterproof, but most competitors or fitness bands come with 5ATM protection. Thus, I do not advise you to dive to great depths and for a long time with Mibro Air.
As for the controls, the new model has one mechanical button on the right side of the case. It performs functions such as turning on the screen and moving backward.
On the back of the Mibro Air smartwatch, there are two charging contacts and a heart rate sensor.
The front of the watch received a small screen by modern standards – it is 1.28 inches. And the quality of the matrix itself is only TFT, not AMOLED. Of course, it makes no sense to expect a high-quality and rich screen for such a price.
A little more about the screen, the display resolution was 240 x 240 pixels. The viewing angles are not the best, but the brightness is sufficient for everyday use, even in sunny weather. Also, the bezels around the screen are very small and barely noticeable.
The strap comes with a width of 20 mm, and its total length is about 248 mm. Also, the strap itself is removable, and therefore changing to any other option will not be a problem for you. In addition, the strap is made of a pleasant silicone material, which can often be found on more expensive smartwatches.
Before talking about the functionality of the new model of Mibro Air smartwatches, the device asks to install a proprietary application via a QR code. But you can also install the application from the Play Store, and the application itself is called Mibro Fit. It is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Now about the user interface of the watch itself. The main screen of the watch received several types of watch faces. But through the mobile application, you can install any picture and I really like this function.
As I already mentioned, the watch received two sensors – PPG bio-pulse and G-sensor. But the G-sensor does not work in the fastest way, but the response accuracy has always been high.
The quick menu with most of the useful settings also has and you need to swipe down from the main screen to call it. Here I will mark such available icons as do not disturb mode, vibration mode, battery level, shutdown, find a smartphone, brightness level, and flashlight.
Of course, like most smartwatches, there are various widgets on the Mibro Air model. If you swipe to the right, you will see widgets such as activity throughout the day, weather, heart rate, sports training, sleep quality, and you can also add or remove the necessary widgets.
To go to the main menu with all functions and features you need to swipe to the left. Here I saw an interesting menu, where the icons are located around the dial. The main functions are standard – these are control of a music player, camera, stopwatch, timer, and others.
With regard to sports modes, the manufacturer has established 12 different types of training. But there is no swimming training, but you can find activities such as working out in the gym, running in the open air, yoga, and much more.
The quality of the heart rate was less believable. But the most important thing is that the watch does not read the air pulse, as is the case with cheaper smartwatches or fitness bracelets.
The Mibro Fit app itself on a smartphone has standard features. For example, you can analyze the results of your activity, steps, heart rate, and sleep quality.
The new model of Xiaomi Mibro Air smartwatch has achieved a good indicator of battery life. The device uses a battery with a capacity of 200 mAh and the battery life was about 10 days with the heart rate measurement always on.
Standby time was up to 25 days. But the charging time for smartwatches remains the same, like most wearable devices – it’s about 1.5 hours.
Xiaomi Mibro Air is a rather interesting smartwatch model, but I can’t call it unique and special. There are most of the functions here, as on any latest fitness bracelet. But what I was hooked on was the quality materials for manufacturing.
For example, the device received an almost completely metal case, high-quality and pleasant to the touch strap, as well as a fast user interface.
On the negative side, I can attribute it to a TFT matrix with a low resolution of 240 x 240 pixels.
Have a nice shopping with Gearbest!
