The radiator fins have a well-established radial shape, which Intel widely uses in its boxed coolers. The radiator itself is quite compact, its height reaches only 20 mm. By the way, the radiator contacts not only the GPU, but also removes heat from the GDDR5 memory chips. For this, soft thermal pads are used.
The printed circuit board of the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 is quite compact, the power system is located to the left of the GPU. I would also like to note that this PCB, like the printed circuit boards of other video cards, is manufactured using Auto-Extreme technology. Thanks to it, all the elements are perfectly aligned and there are no tin smudges on the board. And this happens due to the fact that all components are soldered at a time, so the board is not exposed to repeated heating and exposure to strong chemicals when washing by-products of soldering.
The heart of the video card is the NVIDIA TU116-400-A1 graphics processor. It is manufactured according to the 12 nm process technology and boasts the presence of 1408 CUDA cores, 48 ROP units, 88 TMU units. The nominal clock frequency of the GPU is 1530 MHz, with automatic increase to 1980 MHz in Boost mode. Information exchange with GDDR5 memory is carried out via a 192-bit data bus.
Around the GPU, six GDDR5 memory chips are soldered, they are manufactured by Micron and are marked 8KB77 D9VVR. Their nominal frequency is 2000 MHz (8000 MHz effective).
The power supply system for the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 OC Edition graphics card has 5 phases, they are made according to the 4 + 1 scheme. Four phases are dedicated to power the GPU and one phase to power the memory.
