In 2018, Asus ZeFone 5z proved to be an outstanding device with brilliant hardware. The phone retailed at a reasonable price.
Nevertheless, the Asus Zenfone 6 takes all its predecessor’s achievements and improves on them with an exclusively unique design, adaptive hardware, and electrically powered flip-up camera, at $499 only.
This beautiful device blew my mind away with its crispy bright screen display and fast processing speed.
The branding is the main factor that made the smartphone at a lower price than similar devices with the same specifications. Besides, an affordable price made the phone easily penetrate the dynamic smartphone industry.
I was attracted to the motor-powered 48-megapixel key camera and 13megapixel widespread lens of the Asus ZenFone 6, but I stayed due to its brilliant range and usual color replication.
The motorized camera can track objects in motion and automatically capture high-resolution images with its two lenses. The ZenFone 6 motor camera uses a simple stepper motor to revolve lenses at 180 degrees.
Unlike the OPPO N1 and Galaxy A80 which use more complex motor systems to rotate their camera, the Asus ZenaFone 6 opts for a cheaper means.
More so, the camera was a marketing ploy for attracting potential customers to the relatively low prices of the phone. It lured us from giant companies like Google and Samsung.
Asus ZenFone 6 had to offer up-to-date technology at a comparatively lower price to attract potential smartphone enthusiasts and curve a market niche for itself in the competitive tech world.
For instance, flagship smartphones with a flip camera such as OPPO N1 retailed at $844, but Asus ZenFone retailed at $499, which is more affordable.
Asus ZenFone 6 has all the vital essential features of a top-notch device.
However, one shortcoming of the smartphone may be the display. The phone possesses a 6.4-inch full HD+ display. Asus chose an IPS LCD screen display over an OLED.
The application of LCD display partly explains the gadget’s low price. It sounds off on paper, but after operating the device, the full HD+ screen is not that bad, and I can recommend it to anyone who wishes to try it out.
The brightness and color coordination of the screen is brilliant even under concentrated sunlight. It is an impeccable display, and the majority of you will not have a problem with it.
Branding Factors That Made Asus ZenFone 6
In the smartphone industry, price is an indicator of quality, performance, and seamless operation of the software.
Until recently, Asus was not making waves in the smartphone industry, and nobody paid much attention to the brand. Nevertheless, it had to incorporate quality technology at an affordable price.
The gadget succeeded in hitting the right marks in terms of its 8B RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, and a 5000mAh long-lasting battery. In simpler terms, the Asus ZenFone is like calling a Mercedes Benz Toyota. It is a matter of time before people realize the quality it offers to the smartphone industry.
It’s like Asus managers made the phone based on the comments of technology critics. After using the phone for a week, I was impressed by what it offered to an average tech guru like myself. Since it launched, I already got two feature apprises and is sure the future is bright.
Of course, nothing is perfect under the sun, especially in the smartphone industry. The shortcoming of the Asus ZenFone 6 does not outweigh the benefits of the gadget.
There are slim chances that I might be wrong. Nevertheless, the specs prove that a mid-range price is just a marketing tool because the device is no different from other flagship smartphones launched by other giant tech firms.
The only absent features that I think it should have had are the wireless charger, water resistance capabilities and customized software. Lack of customized software makes the phone less vibrant and susceptible to outdating in the next couple of years.
Assigning ‘smart key’ more than one function may be insecure in some instances, and hackers might easily manipulate the key to access other specifications of the phone.
All in all, branding, a full HD+ LCD screen and a stepper rotated camera made the smartphone more budget-friendly than other phones under the same bracket.
