- I recently replaced the original hard drive in my slow dying nine year old desktop computer with this solid state drive, it's like having a new computer for a fraction of the cost.I was looking for a quiet HDD to install as a data drive on the new desktop system I was building, the SSD is extremely fast, i needed a second drive for storage music, etc. I was really trying to go for a quiet system, i am not sure how well it would do as a primary drive.
