This review is for the 3C tint. Even at full price, this is an very good value, unless the production process has changed since I purchased it. Pros: -Good machining. The threads are smooth even when dry. -Good anodization. I haven't had any problems with it chipping off. The threads are anodized too, which is nice. -Real CREE LED on a Noctigon copper mcpcb -- not a knock-off latticebright emmitter -Good tint stock. Decent tint when dedomed. -Smaller than it looks in pictures, and surprisingly lightweight. I wouldn't put it in my pants pockets for very long because of the head diameter, but it's a good jacket pocket light. -LED is actually centered in the reflector -Good quality tailswitch can handle high amps -Good reflector -Fairly good heatsinking. -Makes good use of high-discharge IMR batteries. Although not IMR, I use the LG MJ1 batteries which have the best combo of capacity and discharge rating (3500mAh, 10A max discharge). -Very good throw for the size. After dedoming the LED and with an LG MJ1, FET driver, and spring bypasses, this easily throws a beam about 400yds. It would definitely be possible to get this over 100,000cd with relatively minor mods. It might be possible to get ~250,000cd by turning it into a fixed aspheric, but that would require much more extensive work.

Suggestion:
-The UI is not very good IMO. I swapped the driver for a spare BLF A6 driver I had lying around. -Lower binned XM-L2. The 3C tint helps to make up for this. -The LED spacer is too tall and thick, causing some small lumen losses. -AR coating on the lens creates a blue corona around the beam (really only noticeable when white-wall hunting, though). Better AR coatings do not do this. As said above, this flashlight is an excellent value -- much, much better than most flashlights in this price range.

-The UI is not very good IMO. I swapped the driver for a spare BLF A6 driver I had lying around. -Lower binned XM-L2. Even with good heatsinking, spring bypasses, and a FET driver, I'm not getting more than around ~1000 lumens OTF. But that's not too far off from the stated 1,100 lumens, and even without modifications this is a very bright light. -The LED spacer is too tall and thick, causing some small lumen losses. -AR coating on the lens creates a blue corona around the beam (really only noticeable when white-wall hunting, though). Better AR coatings do not do this. -Some protected cells are too long for this light, although I personally have had no problem with this. All of my batteries fit. As said above, this flashlight is an excellent value -- much, much better than most flashlights in this price range. *Note: my picture showing the reflector and LED is after minor modding. The stock LED is not dedomed and the stock black centering spacer is larger.

A great light made even better because of the reasonable price. The moonlight level is super low and exactly what I wanted for use at night. The turbo is very bright. The light has great heatsinking. The levels between turbo and moonlight are well spaced. The anodizing is well done, the cap and head screw threads clean and smooth. The lanyard is good quality but I mostly prefer to go without it.
Suggestion:
The protected Panasonic NCR18650 cells I have are slightly too long to permit their use. The rear cap will not screw on far enough to complete the circuit. If you try ti tighten is feels like the spring is all bound up Those cells are 69 mm long. I have the same cells but without the protection board, 67 mm long, and they work fine. I used a 14 gauge copper wire bent in a semi circle as a spacer between the body tube end and the rear cap with the protected cell. That worked good.

-Very bright for it's size. Way better than most flashlights in the same size and pricerange. -Good throw (almost as good as C8 flaslights that have bigger reflectors) -Nice tint 3C -Smaller than it looks in pictures. Pocket friendly, despite the shape of the head -Threads in the tailcap are very good -Quality, well built
Suggestion:
Haven't really found anything I don't like :-)

- nice neutral tint (almost like the old non-led flashlights) - smaller than expected - light weight - high build quality - concentrated beam with enough spill - created with love by awesome people from BudgetLightForum
Suggestion:
- most protected cells are too long
