I purchased this electronic display for one of my grandsons who is training to be an engineer and until he knows what tools and instruments he will need for his job I have bought him some that he can use while he attends his college. Now on the review put battery in slot and open caliper place over item to be measured close calipers until both parts stop against the item and the display gives exact distance or width of the item, and yes I did "play" with it just to make sure it would function properly and it does.
