The ESP8266 is a $4 (up to $10) Wi-Fi module with an ARM processor. Comparing the ESP with other Wi-Fi solutions on the market, it is a great option for most “Internet of Things” projects! It’s easy to see why it’s so popular: it only costs a few dollars and can be integrated in advanced projects.
Suggestion:
No cons

You can fit this little thingy anywhere and with some jumper cables and compact enclosure control different stuff around your home (relays needed as well of course). Works as expected, I'd buy the same again for my next project, the price is so low it's hard to believe.

It's quite easy to get this module running as a stand alone project. I have programmed it thru Arduino UNO board. It has soldered all the pins and it's ready to use out of the box.
Suggestion:
It has been loosing connection with my WiFi router all the time (rooter was 2 meters away)

Suggestion:
No fault of gearbest but this ESP01 design is not breadboard friendly, keep that in mind when prototyping.
