I had been looking at this thing for quite a while but was put off by the price, doing a lot of research to make sure it would be worth it. So when I finally had the money for it, I took the chance. The 720p display on it is very crisp, making some of these games look better than they do on my desktop's 1080p monitor. Keyboard took a little adjusting to get used to but it's comfortable and more in line with pre-smartphone phone keyboards. Both thumb sticks feel great, as do the face buttons and d-pad. The triggers and bumpers on the other hand have more of a click to them and feel similar to mouse buttons, which is understandable given that's what they're for in mouse mode, but it still feels a bit weird to play games with. The face buttons unfortunately cannot be remapped in mouse mode but I did learn that that mode is specifically meant for games with no gamepad support, as the left stick is mapped to WASD.In terms of performance, this thing is amazing for its small form. I was able to run Fallout New Vegas at 60fps on medium settings, so far the only game I have had troubles with has been Sonic Generations but that's mostly a config and gamepad issue rather than a performance one. The downside to this is the battery will last you about as long as a Switch's battery, as it only lasts roughly two hours from a full charge when playing more demanding games like New Vegas. The only other downside to this system I can think of (aside from hard drive space) isn't even with the system itself, but rather how some games need to be launched with the system in gamepad mode in order to register gamepad input.Overall, it's a very solid system and I would highly recommend it if you have the money and the price doesn't put you off.

There are enough reviews about the gaming capabilities of the GPD win 2 and I agree with most of them. I don't have anything to add. My biggest issue is the heat it produces when at full load. But the performance is good enough for my game emulators, current 2d games and older 3d games. Future x86 CPUs might reduce the heat output, so maybe someday there will be a fanless version of the GPD win series. What I love about this device is that is a full featured Windows 10 device. First I increased the Windows scaling to 125% which is my personal sweet spot: it is not too small for touch but not too big so that the applications do not fit in size anymore (cut off controls, windows and so on).I can browse the web with touch or the emulated mouse, I can listen to my local music files which I stream via bluetooth to my car (the device can be used by the passenger to control the playlist), I can watch videos while on long tours with the overland bus. It's a full PC shrinked to a handheld device which allows it to be more than just a gaming console. And I love it for that.Important note: the GPD win 2 requires a charger with 12 V output. So do not expect that your phone charger will work (most often just 5 V output). I tried charging it this way but it did not work. Even Windows 10 recognized it is pluged in but wrote that the "device is NOT charging". My GPD win 2 package contained a type A power plug (used in the USA, Japan and else where). Since I didn't want to buy a new charger without certainty it would work, I bought a travel adapter to type F for europe, which works fine.

This is the only handheld PC I could find at this size that barely fits in large pockets but powerful enough for most tasks. The only complaint I have is the keyboard is not backlit which makes typing in the dark challenging and using the right stick as the mouse is difficult because it's not as smooth for precision mouse operation. For future models, GPD needs to improve the built-in mouse for easier pointing, add back light to the keyboard, shrink the weight of the unit, make it slimmer (but not larger than 6" screen, otherwise, it would not fit in most pockets), and maybe with a more powerful CPU. With these improvements, they would have an award winning handheld PC.

If you are a handheld enthusiast like myself, this will be the best handheld gaming system you have ever owned. It emulates everything from PS2 up though 3DS at fullspeed. And, yes it DOES play Dark Souls III and II perfectly when you tweak the settings to low spec. I own the first GPD Win product, and this newer unit is vastly superior in every way. Even if you are not an avid gamer, this machine can be used for business on the go. Lanruo shipped it super fast and I love how my unit arrived unopened and NEW. I would buy again.
